Portia....Merchant of Venice

Merchant of Venice (Portia)

i've got nothing to do actually....so...as usual..im going to merapu a bit.im memorizing my script rite now..let see if i can type it all in 1 shot..(without looking at da skrip ok!)

ACT 1

by my troth Nerissa, my little body is aweary of this great world...

if to do were as easy as to know what were good to do,
Chapels had been churches, and poor men's cottages princes palaces...
but this reasoning is not in the fashion to choose me a husband...
oh me...the word choose! i may neither choose who i would...nor refuse who i dislike..
so is the will of a living daughter , curbed by the will of a dead father.
is it not hard Nerissa, that I cannot choose one, nor refuse none?

(Nerissa talking, yada yada yada...)

I pray thee over-named them, and as thou namest them, I will describe them.
according to my description, level at my affection..

(Nerissa talk again..)

he doth nothing but frown! he hears merry tales but smiles not..i had rather married a death head, with a bone in his mouth than either of this! God , defend me from these two!

(Nerissa babling...)

God made him, and therefore let him pass as a man! in truth, I know it is a sin to be a mocker, but he! he is every man in no man! if I should marry him, i should marry to 20 husbands.

(Nerissa......)

you know i say nothing to him for he understands not me, nor I him.he is a proper man's picture, but who can converse with a dumb show. and how oddly he is suited!

(Nerissa)

very vilely in the morning when he is sober, and most vilely in the afternoon when he is drunk.

(Nerissa)

therefore, i pray thee. set a deep glass of renish wine on he contrary casket. I would do anything Nerisssa, then to be married to a sponge!

(Nerissa)

Yes, yes it was Bassanio!-so, I think he was called

I remember him well, and I remember him worthy of thy praise.

ACT 2

(Prince of Morroco)

In terms of choice, Im not solely led by nice direction of a maiden's eyes,
bars me the right of voluntary choosing. but if my father, had not hedged me and
scanted me by his wit to yield myself his wife, who wins me - by that mean I told you,
yourself ,renoun price, then stood as fair as any comer i have looked on yet for my affection.

(Prince of Morroco)

you must take your chance, and either not attempt to choose at all.
or swear before you choose. if you choose wrong, never to speak to a lady afterward,
in way of marriage.
therefore, be advised.

(Prince of Morroco)

First, forward to the temple.after dinner, your hazard shall be made.

go draw aside the curtains, and discover the several casket to the nole prince. now make your choice.

(Prince of Morroco)

the one of them contains my picture prince. if you choose that, then Im yours withal.

(Prince of Morroco)

there, take it prince. and if my picture lie there, then Im yours.

(Prince of Morroco)

A gentle riddance! draw the curtain, go. let all like him, choose me so.

(Prince of Arragon)

behold, there stands the caskets my lord. if you choose that wherin Im contained, straight shall our nuptial rites be solemnized. but, if you fail my lord, you must be gone from hence, immediately.

(Prince of Arragon)

to these injunctions everyone doth swear, that comes to hazard for my worthless self.

(Prince of Arragon)

too long a pause for that which you found there..

(Prince of Arragon)

to offend and judge are of distinct offices, and of opposed natures.

(Prince of Arragon)

thus, hath the candle, burnt the moth. o, these diliberate fools! when they do choose, they have the wisdom, by their wit to loose.

come, draw the curtain Nerissa.

(Messanger)

Here, what do you want?

(Messanger)

no more I pray thee. Im half afeared thou will say he is some kin to thee.
thou spent such high day wit in praising him.
come, come Nerissa. for I long to see, quick cupid's post that come so mannerly.

ACT 3

I pray you tarry, pause a day or two,
before you hazard for in choosing wrong.
I lost your company, therefore, forebear awhile.

Beshrew your eyes,
they have overlooked me and divided me.
one half of me is yours, the other half yours mine own,
I would say. but if mine, then yours, and so...all yours.

(Bassanio)

Upon the rack Bassanio? then confessed
what treason there is mingled with your love.

(Bassanio)

Ay, but I fear you speak upon the rack.
where men enforced do speak anything.

(Bassanio)

well then confess and live.

(Bassanio)

away then, Im locked in one of them.
if you do love me, you will find me out.

(Bassanio)

you see me lord Bassanio, myself and what is mine to you and yours
is now converted. just a moment ago, I was the lord
of this fair mansion, the master of my servants,
the queen over myself and even now, but now
this house, these servants, and this same myself are yours my lord.
I give them with this ring. which when you part from, lost, or give away,
let it presage the ruin of your love.
and be my vantage to exclaim on you.

Fuh! dats all....i never thought it was this long though.....huhuhu.... Bravo to me! i memorized all of it....so far...hehehe....wish me luck!

p.s. secretly......i hope tiger will be Bassanio.....huhuhu

I dont truly know what you talking about right here. This cant be the only way to think about this can it? It appears like you understand a lot, so why not explore it more? Make it more accessible to everyone else who might not agree with you? Youd get a lot more individuals behind this should you just stopped making common statements.
